Associate General Counsel, Ford Motor Credit Company
Jim Swartz is Associate General Counsel - Global Compliance for Ford Motor Credit Company. Swartz is responsible for administering Ford Credit's legal compliance initiatives, including operational, licensing and corporate governance matters. Prior to that, Swartz was Practice Group Leader in the Ford Credit Legal Office responsible for legal issues related to Ford Credit's North America operations. Swartz joined Ford Credit in 1986 and has held a variety of positions in the Legal Office including Vice President - Legal for Fairlane Credit LLC, Ford Credit's nonprime operations in Colorado Springs.
Swartz graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor of arts degree in History and Political Science. He received his law degree from Wayne State University in 1986.
Swartz is a governing member of the Conference on Consumer Finance Law and a subcommittee chair for the American Financial Services Association Law Committee. He taught Secured Transactions at the University of Denver's Law School.
